MCBEE designs world-class private cinemas and home theatres for Chennai's Boat Club Road and ECR residences — Dolby Atmos, reference-grade 4K laser projection, and Trinnov room correction, with acoustic treatment engineered first so the electronics are tuned to what the room actually measures.
The terms describe the same category of space — a dedicated room engineered for film and immersive audio — with "private cinema" leaning toward the fully custom, acoustically-treated, reference-grade end of the spectrum MCBEE specialises in.
Dolby Atmos adds height/overhead speaker channels to a traditional surround layout, so sound can move above and around the listener rather than just left-right-front-back. It needs ceiling access or in-ceiling speakers, a compatible AV processor, and — for it to sound the way it should — a room correction system like Trinnov to calibrate the layout to the room, not the other way around.
A dedicated, acoustically-isolated room delivers the best result, but MCBEE also designs high-performance media rooms and living-space installations where a standalone room isn’t available — the acoustic and calibration approach adapts to the space.
Calibration follows ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) and HAA (Home Acoustic Alliance) methodology rather than tuning by ear — video is measured with a Jeti Calman Klient K-10A colorimeter, and audio with Smaart software, Type 1 measurement microphones from iSEMcon, and NTi meters. PVA (Pro Video Alliance) calibration is used where a project calls for it.
